ABU DHABI CRICKET AND ABU DHABI SPORTS COUNCIL PARTNER WITH VPS’ BURJEEL HOSPITALS TO PROVIDE DISCOUNTED PCR TESTS FOR ALL ICC MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2021 MATCH TICKET HOLDERS IN ABU DHABI

TICKET HOLDERS TO RECEIVE 50% DISCOUNT ON PCR TESTS AT SELECT LOCATIONS FROM THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER

Wednesday 20 October: Thousands of cricket fans attending ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 matches in Abu Dhabi can now get a required pre-match PCR test for half the current price at VPS Healthcare’s Burjeel Hospitals.

Thanks to the partnership between Burjeel and Abu Dhabi Sports Council, each ticket holder to the 15 matches taking place at Zayed Cricket Stadium will be entitled to the half price offer and can avail it at any of three sites in the UAE capital by showing their official matchday ticket.

  • Burjeel Medical City
  • Burjeel Day Surgery Center Al Reem Island
  • Burjeel Medical centers in Al Shahama,  Al Shamka, and Al Zeina

Those facilities will all welcome ticketholders for the discounted PCR tests, which are required for entry to every match at Abu Dhabi Cricket, alongside a green pass on their Al HOSN App.

Fans attending the Super 12 stage opener between heavyweights Australia and South Africa, will be the first to avail of the half-price offer by taking their tests on Thursday, 21 October and receiving their results in time to be able to show a negative result within 72 hours of the match’s 2pm start on Saturday, 23 October.

Zayed Cricket Stadium will be able to host more than 10,000 fans for every match, with stadium capacities increased to 70 percent for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

“Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Burjeel Hospitals, and Abu Dhabi Cricket have come together for this initiative in order to safely accommodate all of those people on site and, at the same time, help reduce the cost on the paying public,” said His Excellency Aref Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

“We are committed to making the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 as safe and accessible as possible to everyone coming to Zayed Cricket Stadium over the next five weeks, whether they are UAE-based cricket fans or they have flown in from around the world to join us in the UAE for what is the biggest sporting event the country has ever hosted.

“To ensure their safety, we have implemented robust measures in line with wider government policy. Every cricket fan entering Abu Dhabi during the tournament can be assured that we have taken every step possible to make the superb Abu Dhabi Cricket site the safest in the country.”

The 15 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup games in Abu Dhabi got underway on Monday, 18 October and Zayed Cricket Stadium will also host the tournament’s first semi-final on 10 November.
